Welcome

Have a PLAY DATE with CETA!

The California Educational Theatre Association is pleased to present its annual Fall Conference, PLAY DATE, October 12th – 14th in beautiful Pacific Grove/Monterey.  What better setting could there be for curling up by the fire to read a play? Or gazing out into the ocean while your imagination runs wild with new-found possibilities for creating theatre with your students?

This year, our gathering of theatre educators will focus on all aspects of the written word in the theatre classroom:

Keynote Speaker Tappan Wilder, on the legacy of his uncle, Thornton Wilder
• Finding the right play for your students
• The new Arts Standards
• Playwriting and dramaturgy
• Curricular alignment & arts integration tools
• New playwrights
• Diverse voices and experiences
• Tie-ins to teaching literature-ELL and cultural connections-ESL
• Providing equity and access to each and every student
• Sharing with other theatre educators

You’ll find it all at this year’s conference, in a beautiful environment that creates “space” for creativity.

We invite you to explore the site and reserve your lodging early!
